HISTORY OF TOURISM IN KAPCHORWA

The Governors Suit / Colonial Rest Camp

Sipi Rest Camp-The Governor’s Suite has a rich history dating back to the 1950’s. It was built by Sir Andrew Cohen, the second last Governor to Uganda, as a retreat for administrative purposes in Eastern Uganda. The suite's stunning view of the 100m Sipi 3rd waterfall makes it a perfect spot for relaxation. Its construction marked the beginning of tourism in Kapchorwa and the Sebei sub-region. Today, the camp offers visitors a chance to experience the natural beauty that inspired its creation.
